The former convent buildings of The Counts of Horst have been renovated and secured with state resources. As a showcase project it was adapted to the demands of a modern building. The purpose of the renovation was to preserve the existing historical character. Due to the choice of materials and the contemporary design of the details, the need for certain technical provisions was highlighted. From the start, planners have avoided an ‘artificially aging’ approach. After the reconstruction a ballroom of almost 50 meters long was added to the West Wing.
